Entrepreneur Catherine Blake Celebrates Independence Day with Air National Guard's Refueling Mission
Portsmouth, New Hampshire –
Sales Protocol International’s founder and entrepreneur, Catherine Blake, celebrated Independence Day early in the cockpit of New Hampshire’s Air National Guard’s KC-135 Stratotanker (Boeing 707) during a training mission.
“The mission was an experience to appreciate first hand a mid-air refueling, something that all airborne branches of the military depend on for national and global missions,” remarked Catherine Blake, president and founder of Sales Protocol International. “Sitting in the cockpit of a KC-135 Stratotanker during take-off was the thrill of a lifetime. I’ve dedicated this experience to my late father, a retired U.S. Naval Aviator and veteran.”
"It's important for the public to see first hand what we do", said Air National Guard Captain Jeffrey Denton. "Most people have no idea that the Air National Guard Base at Pease is active in refueling missions from Portsmouth to Baghdad and beyond. Men and women of the guard at Pease are also your friends, neighbors, and members of the community-at-large."
The flight accomplished a training mission that included a second KC-135 flying one mile behind and a third plane, a KC-10, being refueled over the Canadian boarder. The Air NatioGuard’s mission is both state and federal, that is, to staff, equiand train combat flying and combat support units to augment the Air Force (AF) and to provide units trained and equipped to protect life and property and to preserve peace, order and public safety.
"It’s a thrill to share with the leadership on the Seacoast what we do and who we are,” reflected Colonel Gretchen S. Dunkelberger, 157th Medical Group Commander and Leadership Seacoast graduate. The flight opportunity was made available through Leadership Seacoast, a non-profit organization with the mission to introduce individuals to community issues, effective leadership practices, and opportunities to explore personal involvement in action.
